Norma Ruth (Porter) Johnson

Norma Ruth (Porter) Johnson from Midwest City, Oklahoma age 87, passed away October 25, 2023, she was born on December 17, 1935, at Maud, Oklahoma. She graduated from Asher High School. Norma married the love of her life, Bobby Joe Johnson on March 3, 1955, in Asher, Oklahoma. She retired from Tinker AFB after 20 years, where she worked in the print shop and then became an aircraft electrician for most of her career. She loved to travel with her children, friends, her JOY class at church and travel club. She also loved puzzles, word searches, sudoku and the quip-a-quote out of the paper, she also loved quilting and sewing, saving a scrap from each dress she made for her girls and later making them each a butterfly quilt with all the cherished fabrics from their childhood. Norma is preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Bobby Joe Johnson and her parents Trussie and Neelie Porter. She is survived by her 2 daughters and their husbands, Vanessa and Chris Coffman and Tammy and Bob Young, one grandson, Matthew Norris and his wife Stephanie and one great granddaughter, Callie and one new great granddaughter on the way. She is also survived by a sister and her husband, Linda and Ed Ingram, a brother and his wife, Darrel Ray and Leona Porter. She also has many cousins, nieces and nephews that she loved and adored.

Visitation will be at Asa Smith Funeral Home, 2309 N. Tim Holt Dr., Harrah, Oklahoma from 2:00 – 5:00pm on Sunday, October 29, 2023. Services will be held at Country Estates Baptist Church, 1000 S. Midwest Blvd., Midwest City, Oklahoma at 10:00am on Monday, Oct 30, 2023.

The family would like to thank Wellington Parke Assisted Living for their loving care for the past 7 years and Humanity Hospice for their outstanding love and support for the past 5 months. And lastly thanks to everyone who sent up prayers for Norma & her family in the past few months, we felt them, and we love you!
