PAT RUSSELL
Pat Russell, 87, of Harrah passed from this life to her rewards in Heaven and a joyous reunion with a host of friends and relatives on July 10, 2023. She was born to Josephine Klotz Russell on June 26, 1936, and grew up in Harrah, graduating from HHS in 1954.
Pat was a life-long member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church of Harrah where she was a faithful member of the choir since age 10. She also served as treasurer of the Altar Society and was a member of the Finance Committee. In 2010, Pat was honored by her Catholic faith as a Lady of Achievement.
She was employed by Oklahoma Farm Bureau Insurance Co. for 48 years, working her way up the ladder to Vice President of Accounting. She retired in 2002 and was awarded a 50-year pin because of the many hours of overtime she devoted to the company.
Throughout her life, Pat was known for her faith in God, kindness, sharing and love of family. Her extensive volunteer work included keeping the accounting books for the Harrah Senior Center for 10 years. She was also a curator at the Harrah History Center since 2002, proudly embracing the history and preservation of her Polish heritage.
Pat was also an avid sports fan, especially when it came to the New York Yankees and the Oklahoma Sooners.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Josephine Klotz Russell and niece Tammy Schirf-Koelsch.
Pat is survived by her sister Suzan Schirf and husband Dean of Harrah; and a nephew Trevor Schirf and wife Stacey of Edmond; nephew-in-law Jonathan Koelsch of Midwest City.
Friends may call and pay their respects from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at the Asa Smith Funeral Service in Harrah. Rosary will be Friday, July 14 at 10:00 a.m., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Teresa Catholic Cemetery.
Tributes and condolences may be posted on the funeral home website www.asasmith.net. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Harrah History Center or the St. Teresa Altar Society.
