Ray Colbert Morgan, 75, of McLoud, passed at his home on Sunday January 5, 2025. Ray was born November 14, 1949, in Madill, Oklahoma, to Lawrence and Rosie (Turner) Morgan. He was reared and educated in Madill. He joined the United States Army enduring two tours in Vietnam, where he received many awards including Rifle and Machine Gun Marksman, Rifle Sharpshooter, Combat Infantry Badge and Vietnam Campaign Medal and a Bronze Star. He married Erlene Frances Ivey in 1971. The couple had one son James Robert Morgan, and later divorced. He later married Dorothy Green on August 30, 2003, she preceded him in death in 2016. He was a longtime employee at Tinker Air Force Base retiring in 2009 as a supervisor. Ray loved to go fishing and riding in his jet boat on Thunderbird Lake. He also enjoyed hunting and riding his Harley.
He was preceded death by his parents, Lawrence Morgan and Rosie Sisson, wife Dorothy, and son James.
Survivors include his sisters Jovita Black of Madill and Sharon Vaughan of Lone Wolf; daughter-in-law Susan Morgan; grandchildren “Bubba” James Ray Morgan, Izabel Wilborn, John, Jeromy, Jonzie, Jessica, Hamilton. and partner Kevin Henderson; great-grandchildren Navaya, Kyran and Karter and too many children, grandchildren great-grandchildren from other marriage to name.
The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Asa Smith Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow in Memory Lane Cemetery.
