Reford Raymond Young, born in Harrah, Oklahoma on September 13, 1931, died September 9, 2022. He was the youngest of 8 children.
Reford was a busy, productive man all his life and a life-long Harrah resident. He worked as a dairy farmer, feed store owner, car salesman, tractor salesman, a Sinclair gas station owner, and he did tractor work for other people. He was a church deacon for many years and a devout Christian.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Edna Young; 2 sisters; Lorna and Bessie; 5 brothers, Jack, Russell, Louis, Raleigh and Lee; his first wife, Sue Watt, his second wife, Bertie Vinson; 1 grandson, Brian Vinson, 3 daughters-in-law, Sue Young, Cheryl Young and Mary Young; 4 sons-in-law, Steve Murphy, Dennis Biggs, Buddy DeWitt and Artie Lewis.
Reford married Sue Watts in 1953. They had 4 children. He married Bertie Vinson in 1971. She had 6 children from a previous marriage.
Reford is survived by 10 children, 32 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
Reid Young, Hardin, MO, 6 children, 2 grandchildren; Keith and wife Tracy, Oklahoma City, OK, 5 children, 14 grandchildren; Timmy Young, Harrah OK; John Young, Oklahoma City, OK, 1 child, 3 grandchildren; Karen Murphy, Moore, OK, 3 children, 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; Diana Kay Biggs, Omaha, NE, 2 children, 7 grandchildren; Kathy DeWitt, Harrah, OK, 4 children, 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; Kenneth Vinson and wife, Veda, Pensacola, FL, 4 children, 5 grandchildren; Krystal Lewis, Norman, OK, 4 children, 10 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild; Angela Jenkins and husband, Jim, Warren, OH, 3 children, 7 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild. Many nieces and nephews as well as other family and friends.
Family arranged memorial services will be held at Shield’s Boulevard Baptist Church, 3700 S Shields Blvd., OKC, Sunday, September 25th at 1:30pm. Meal is being provided for the family by the church. Sunday Church services begin at 10:40am for any who would like to attend.
