Reta Jean Rogers

The light of our family, Reta Jean Rogers, 87, passed away peacefully on August 4th, 2023. She was surrounded by family and loved ones.

Reta was born May 31, 1936, in Oklahoma City, to Russell and June (Phillips) Sivard. She was reared and educated in Choctaw, graduating high school in 1954. She later received an associate degree in Early Childhood Development from Rose State College. She began her adult life as a military wife and ultimately, she settled down in Harrah, where she raised her children and helped with her grandchildren. Reta worked as data collector for the U.S. Census Bureau for many years. Reta’s greatest love was to travel to South Padre Island and could be found at the beach where she loved to collect seashells.

Reta cherished her family and always put the needs of others before her own. She was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage, grace, and dignity. Our mother was a source of inspiration to us all and she will be deeply missed by everyone.

Reta was predeceased by her parents R.G. and June Sivard, brothers R.G. Jr. and Donald; and a sister Zola. Reta is survived by her children Kraig and Debbie; grandchildren, Erika, Lori, Scott, Ame, and Joshua, and great-grandchildren, Ellie, Luke, Caleb, Matthew, Ashley, Braden, Tanner, Brynlee, and Lucy.

We request all of Reta’s loved ones to join us in celebrating her beautiful life at Memory Lane Cemetery on Wednesday, August 9th at 10:00 am located at 20451 NE 10th Street in Harrah.
