Roger Dale Eddy, 76, passed away Tuesday, Nov 10, 2020, at his home in Choctaw surrounded by loved ones. Roger was born on Nov. 27, 1943, in Oklahoma City. He was preceded in death by his mother Ruth, father Olan, brother Joe Mac and sister Carol. He is survived by his wife Charlene; son Jason and wife Patricia, daughter Tracey Sandison and husband Billy; daughter Angela Allen and husband Stacy; bonus daughter Christie Roush and husband Noel; Grandchildren Micayla, Jordan, Travis, Colten, Jacob, Samuel, Isabel, Emma and Shay-Lynne, Hollee and Ryan; and seven Great-Grandchildren. Roger was a graduate of Capitol Hill High School. He served with the US Army, 25th Infantry, during the Vietnam Conflict from 1966 to 1968. Later, he used his GI Bill to get an Associate Degree in psychology. He eventually began his professional career at Tinker AFB in Civil Engineering. He loved his job and formed life-long friendships with his co-workers who loved to hunt and fish, too. Roger often reminisced about those days with love and laughter. After retiring from Tinker, Roger and Charlene built a home at Lake Texoma. He loved living at the lake. It was a dream come true for him – having the opportunity to fish anytime he wanted. Roger’s sense of humor endeared him to everyone. He was a man of principle who never minced words. Right was right. Wrong was wrong. There was no gray area. He never took life for granted. He had slipped through death’s grip before and knew what a blessing it was to be given a new day by his Heavenly Father. Roger fought his final battle with courage and every ounce of strength he had. But, it was time to let go. God’s timing is perfect and He needed you. Thank you – you sweet man -- for your perfect smile, your contagious laughter and for the beautiful memories that will forever light the corners of our minds. Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. in the Asa Smith Memorial Chapel officiated by Dr. Clint Roberts, followed by interment at Memory Lane Cemetery under direction of Asa Smith Funeral Service, Harrah.
