Lifelong Newalla resident Ronald Eugene Withrow better known as “Ronnie” by most passed away at his home Thursday, August 16, 2018. Ronnie was born February 2, 1956, to Loyd Vernon and Clara M. (Ingram) Withrow. Ronnie attended and graduated from McLoud High School in 1974. He loved his hometown roots of Newalla and even jokingly professed himself as the “Mayor of Newalla.” He spent many years working as a civil servant at Tinker Air Force Base where he served as an Inventory Specialist until retirement. Ronnie was very proud of being a member of the Masonic Lodge #126 in McLoud. Among the most important things for Ronnie was time spent with his grandchildren and fishing at the family pond. He cherished these times and the memories they made. He couldn’t wait for Saturdays and Sundays in the fall as he cheered on his Oklahoma Sooners and Dallas Cowboys with a houseful of family and friends. He loved any activity that involved football, food, and company. You could also catch him visiting the local casino playing a few games but most of all enjoying the selections of buffets they had to offer. His parents; brother Kenneth Withrow, and niece Sharon Gibson predeceased Ronnie. He is survived by his two sons Ronnie Joe Withrow and wife Brandi, Mat Withrow and wife Michelle; and daughter Dallas Franklin; grandchildren Mason Withrow, Madison Withrow and Emma Jo Withrow; sisters Linda Fugate and husband James and Jacaquita White along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of friends. A funeral service to celebrate Ronnie’s life will be 2 PM Thursday, August 23, 2018, at the First Baptist Church of Newalla with interment to follow at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Newalla. Public visitation will be from 8 AM to 8 PM Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at Asa Smith Funeral Home of Harrah.
