RONALD RAY MORRISON Ronald Ray (Ronnie) Morrison, 72, of Newalla passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Saturday, February 27, 2021. He was born in Council Hill, OK on August 15, 1948 to James Rupert and Geneva Grace Shinpoch Morrison. The family moved to the Choctaw area when he was 5. He grew up there and attended Choctaw schools. Directly after high school, Ron enlisted and served honorably in the US Army, where he saw combat in Vietnam. After his discharge from the military, he attended Rose State College before beginning his career with Safeway Warehouse which was later Homeland and then Associated Wholesale Grocers. It was there he met Peggy Williams and they were married on May 22, 1979. Ron retired from AWG in 2005 after 34 years of service. One of Ron's true passions was the giving of his time as a volunteer fireman. He volunteered for Southwest Lincoln County and Harrah. He was also a first responder. Ron's greatest pleasure was spending time with his family and he was a loyal and devoted husband, father and grandfather who always put his family first. He was a constant source of love, laughter and kindness to his family and friends. We will always cherish his quick wit, unique sense of humor and his loving spirit. Ron was a gentle soul and he left his loved ones with a lifetime of memories. He was dearly loved and will be truly missed.
