ROSEANNE MARIE VOLPE RoseAnne Marie Volpe, 80, of Harrah passed from this life and went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 16, 2021 while under the compassionate care of the staff at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Oklahoma City. She was born on June 11,1940, to Joseph and Constance Corvo in Bronx, NY. RoseAnne entered a convent of a Franciscan Order at the age of 17. While serving in the religious life, she also graduated from St. John’s University, NY, with a degree in Medical Science Technology. She decided not to take final vows in 1964. She always valued education and earned her Masters of Science in Teaching in 1978 from Florida Atlantic University and her Education Specialist from Nova Southeastern University, FL in 1985. RoseAnne met Frank Volpe, and they were married on November 7, 1965. They had two children, Maria and Frank (Jr.). RoseAnne worked in various labs and hospitals, but she enjoyed a 38-year teaching career in South Florida. To say she had a love of science, learning, teaching, painting, sketching, jewelry design, and travel is an understatement. During her teaching career, she traveled the world and received research grants to NASA and Lawrence Berkley Laboratories. Her greatest loves were the Holy Trinity, the Blessed Mother, the angels and Saints, and her family. She had an uncontainable love for her children and grandchildren. Whether going out to dinner, playing poker, watching a Charlie Chan or Sherlock Holmes mystery or Dr. Who, she thoroughly enjoyed their company. During her teaching career she taught many subjects to include physics, chemistry, and biology. One only has to read the hundreds of notes she received from her students over the years to know how much she was loved and appreciated by those she taught. She strived to let God’s presence be known to all she encountered. She is survived by her daughter Maria Bower and son-in-law, Mark, of Plano, TX, son Frank Volpe and daughter-in-law, Joelle, of Harrah, OK; and brother, John Corvo, of Hollywood, FL. Grandma Rose is also survived by 8 grandchildren. Mathew and Benjamin Bower of Plano, TX and Gabriel, James, Valerie, Jacob, Vincent and Blaise Volpe of Harrah, OK. She also had many, many more family and friends that she loved dearly. Wake and rosary will be held at 12 p.m. Monday, March 1, 2021 followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church with Father Deva Undralla officiating.
