Roy Linder Parker
Roy Linder Parker was born June 19th, 1936 in Donalsonville, Georgia. He was the son of the late Emily Cobb Parker and Henry Hudson Parker. He is the brother of the late Sidney Lamar Parker of Donalsonville, GA.
Roy died October 7th at 5:40am at the Veterans Center in Norman, OK. He was 88 years old. Roy grew up and attended school at Seminole County High School in Donalsonville, GA, where he exceled in sports such as baseball and football. After attending high school, in 1954, he joined the United States Coast Guard. Upon discharge from the Coast Guard in 1959, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. After 21 years of proudly serving our country, he retired at the rank of Master Sergeant at Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Roy then went into water management and retired from the City of Midwest City after 20 years of service.
In 1957, while stationed in Portland, Maine, he married the love of his life, Marjorie Lorraine Mercer. They were married 52 years. She precedes him in death.
Roy leaves behind: three sons, Mark, Mike, and Clay Parker of Oklahoma City; one daughter, Lee Ann Parker Duch of Mountain Home, Arkansas; eight grand-children; Shana, Sabrina, Heather, Austin, Adam, Daniel, Blake, and Logan; as well as six great-grandchildren: Isabella, Sophie, and Olivia Butcher, Brantly Duch, Dallas and Skyler Parker.
Roy enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and the great outdoors, but what he loved the most was his family, God and our great nation, the United States of America.
May Roy rest in peace where he will be united with the love of his life, Marjorie. And may they both bask in the warmth of God’s light for all eternity, knowing their family loves and misses them.
