Russell Eugene Gillespie

Russell Eugene Gillespie, 60, of McLoud, OK passed from this life on February 25, 2023, in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born to Donald Eugene and LaVonne Stephens Gillespie on November 19, 1962, in Tulsa, OK.

Russell was raised in Collinsville, OK and graduated from Oologah High School in 1981. He and Brenda Tracy were united in marriage on November 17, 1986. Russell owned and operated P&G Construction Co. for several years and also worked for the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department in Chandler and was also a member of the Jacktown Fire Department for several years.

Russell and Brenda loved to travel. They enjoyed eating at restaurants mentioned on the show "Discover Oklahoma." There was always a new restaurant, if not in Oklahoma, along the way. He also enjoyed spending time at the lake with his nieces and nephews.

Russell was a member of the First Baptist Church, Harrah.

Russell was preceded in death by his mother LaVonne Plute, his father Donald Gillespie; a baby sister Diana Gillespie; and an uncle, Richard Plute.

Those left to mourn his passing include his wife of 36 years, Brenda Tracy Gillespie; his dad, Ken Plute; brothers Chris Gillespie and wife Ginny, Ron Gillespie and wife Ralene and Tim Gillespie; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
