Samuel Visnieski
Samuel Visnieski, 59, of Harrah, passed from this life to his heavenly reward on Thursday, June 8, 2023. Sam was born March 20, 1964, in Oklahoma City, to Martin and Veronica (Rychlec) Visnieski. He was reared and educated in Harrah, later attending North Eastern Oklahoma College in Miami, Oklahoma on an athletic scholarship. Sam was an outstanding athlete in football, wrestling and track. Sam married Jamie Loman in 1989, the couple had two sons and were later divorced. Sam, later married Lillie Peters in 1995, and gained two step-children. The couple later divorced.
Sam worked as a driver for Dolese, and later for Oklahoma Natural Gas Company as a pipeline maintenance manager. Sam retired after a car accident limited his movement. Sam was truly a “Jack of all trades”, being able to master anything and overcome any situation. Known for being exceptionally kind, Sam loved his family, he truly enjoyed the great outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Those left to mourn his passing and celebrate his life include his sons Zachary and Zane Visnieski; step-son Randal “Bubba” Rodgers; step-daughter Miranda Barnes and her children Auzlyn and Deklyn Barnes; brothers George and wife Suzanne Visnieski of Wellston, Terrance and wife Gayla Visnieski of Dale, Timothy and wife Marianne Visnieski of Prague, Gerald and wife Kathy Visnieski, and Marvin and wife Joyce Visnieski all of Harrah; sister Connie and husband Mike Backhus of Junction City, Kansas; and numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church of Harrah. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday, also at the Church. Burial will follow in the St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Cemetery.
