Steven Vance Hart

Steven Vance Hart, born on March 22, 1950, in Spokane, Washington, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the age of 75. He was the son of the late Robert and Georgia Hart. Steve’s life was one filled with service, love, and adventure, and he leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories and a deep impact on all who knew him.

Steve spent his early years in Spokane, Washington and Thompson Falls, Montana, where he developed a lifelong love for the mountains and fly fishing. His appreciation for the outdoors was a cornerstone of his character. In November 1968, Steve proudly enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served with distinction. As an AIMD Supervisor, Jet Test Cell Operator, and F14 Tomcat Plane Captain, Steve dedicated his skills and efforts to his country until his honorable discharge in January 1978.

Steve’s love for his family was evident in all aspects of his life. On September 7, 1972, he became the proud father of his daughter, Michelle Catherine Hart. Steve was devoted to providing a wonderful life for his daughter and shared a bond with her that lasted a lifetime. On July 4, 1982, Steve married the love of his life, Edith (Edie) Rose. Together, they joined their families, and Steve gained a son, Jimmy, while Edie gained a daughter, Michelle. The couple enjoyed a fulfilling life together, creating many lasting memories with family trips to Yellowstone, Hawaii, Lake Hamilton in Arkansas, Niagara Falls, and Sonda, Arizona. Later in life, they enjoyed travels to Port Aransas beach, four-wheeling in the mountains of Colorado and Montana, and a special trip to Paris to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary.

Steve’s professional life was marked by dedication and service, first working as a deputy at Mohave County Sheriff’s Office from December 1979 to October 1981, and then as an Officer/Investigator at Eloy Police Department. His career took another direction when he began training companies on safety compliance and hazardous materials. This work took him and his family to several states, including Oklahoma City, Houston, Ohio, and eventually led to the founding of his own company, MidAmerica Transportation Services.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents and infant grandson Jared Blevins.

Steve’s love for life, family, and faith will forever be remembered by all who knew him. He leaves behind his soulmate, Edie; his daughter, Michelle and her husband, Dereck; his son, Jimmy and his wife, Shannon; and his six grandchildren: Kinsey Rodriguez (husband Andre), Jenna Blevins, Logan Martin, Jace Martin, Shyla Coonfield (husband Jesse), Dalton Gorrell (wife Jessika), and six great-grandchildren: Lydia, Jesse Jr., Rhett, Sawyer, Elle, and Theodore, brother Lonnie Hart and his wife Janet, two Brother-In-Law’s Mike Miner and wife Barbara, and Matt Miner and his wife Brandy along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Steve’s passing leaves a hole in the hearts of his family and friends. His memory will live on in the love and joy he brought to those around him. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to all those who offered their prayers, calls, texts, and support during this difficult time.

Steve will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

The family will greet friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
