Stewart Nelson Simmons

Stewart Nelson Simmons, 56, of McLoud, passed away Friday, January 10, 2025, in Oklahoma City. Stewart was born October 23, 1968, at Clark Air Force Base, Philippines, to Roberto Julio and Alba Concepcion (Martinez) Simmons. He attended school at Tinker Air Force Base Elementary, Carl Albert Junior High, and graduated from McLoud High School in 1987. He later attended college and joined the United States Army. He served in the 3rd U.S. Infantry, The Old Guard of the Army in Washington, DC. Which is the Army’s official ceremonial unit and escort to the President and later changed careers to Airborne Ranger. He was later discharged at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He worked in Tennessee as a supervisor in a tire manufacturing plant, later returned to McLoud to be closer to family.

He was preceded in death by his father Roberto.

Stewart is survived by his mother Alba of McLoud; children Esau Rivas, Alex Flores, Stefany Fuentes, Daniella Guerrero, Steven Simmons; his siblings Yulie Marie Castro and her sons Luis and Sebastian of Tecumseh, Magda Lucia Gutierrez and her husband Waldemar and her children Nickolle, Charlamagne, and Francisco of Grand Prairie, Texas, Richard Byron Simmons and his wife April and children Brett, Alaric and Laurel of Moore, Oklahoma; grandchildren Isabella Guerrero, Katalin Fuentes, Laila Fuentes, Giancarlo Rivas, Royalty Rivas, Lucas Flores, Eliana Flores, and Stacia Simmons.

Friends may pay their respect 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

The Rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at the St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church of McLoud.

A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 9:30 am, Thursday also at the church. Followed by interment in Fort Sill National Cemetery near Elgin, Oklahoma, at 1:00 p.m.
