Thelma Ann Stramski

March 5, 1958 — November 17, 2020

On Tuesday, November 17, 2020, Thelma “Ann” Stramski of Choctaw, OK passed away suddenly at the age of 62 due to complications from COVID. Ann was born March 5, 1958 to John Anthony (Jack) and Virginia (Lake) Walsh in Oklahoma City. Ann was known to many as “Buttons”. Always claiming to be a Florida girl, she made her life with her family in Oklahoma since the age of 9. She graduated from Midwest City High School in 1976. She married the love of her life on March 6, 1976. In 1978, they welcomed their first son, Shane. Two years later, they welcomed another son, Daniel. She loved being a mom and was very proud of them. Ann would open her heart and home to the boys’ friends and many of them called her “Momma”. After a brief career at Tinker AFB, Ann followed her true calling into the medical field. She returned to school to become licensed practical nurse. She was a nurse for several doctors around the Midwest City area. Even after she retired, it didn’t stop her from taking care of others. She was the one you could count on to tend to the sick whether it was staying overnight in a waiting room or getting up early to meet the doctors on their morning rounds at the hospital. In 2017, when both of her “Kims” faced cancer she was there providing rides for treatment to taking them something to help them through the next day. Ann never met a stranger. She had the ability to make you feel extra special. She welcomed a family stationed here, Perry and Tina, taking on the role of surrogate grandma to their son Danny. She enjoyed attending biker events and runs. She was very proud the day she got her own Can-Am. The one thing she loved more than anything was being GaGa to her grandson Dominic and her two bonus grandkids Jeremiah and Samantha. She was preceded in death by her father Jack Walsh and one brother Brad Frosig. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Stephen; son Shane and his wife Virginia; son Daniel, grandson Dominic; her mother Virginia Walsh of Inverness, Florida and one brother Ronald Frosig of Inverness, Florida. She is also survived by her bonus grandkids Jeremiah and Samantha (and their mother Sarah); her best friend Kim (Jose) Soto and her lil’ sis Kim (Jerry) Stramski along with numerous in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Regional Food Bank, Breast Cancer Research Foundation or The Gracie Foundation, Inc. Due to COVID, a memorial will be held at a later date.
